Stokes County Recent Arrest Windows
The Stokes County Sheriff's Office posts booking and custody data through its official Citizen Connect Inmate Confinements interface. Four views matter here. Current Confinements lists who is in custody now. Last 24 Hour Admits catches fresh bookings, and Last 7 Days Admits plus a custom date search stretch the window further. That custom search tops out at 31 days.
Results shift with the mode you pick. Someone released after booking vanishes from Current Confinements but can still sit in a recent-admit list with a release label. A brand-new arrest may lag while intake, classification, photo capture, and data entry run their course. There is no set refresh schedule. For the same-day approach see Arrested Today, and for the multi-day blotter use Arrest Reports.
| View | Question answered | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current Confinements | Who is shown in custody now? | Released people leave this view |
| Last 24 Hour Admits | Who entered the jail recently? | Dynamic result, not a stable list URL |
| Last 7 Days Admits | Who was booked this week? | Admission view, not current status alone |
| Custom dates | Who entered within chosen dates? | 31 days or less |
The official booking interface shown here requires a user to choose the proper view.

The controls distinguish current custody from admissions during a set time.
Arrested Recently in Stokes County
Start with Last 24 Hour Admits when a booking likely happened overnight. Then check Current Confinements. The two modes answer different questions. If intake crossed the edge of the rolling window, Last 7 Days Admits picks up the trail. An empty same-day result proves little. The person could still be at a police facility, bonded out before reaching the participating jail, be held elsewhere, or simply not appear online yet.
Timing urgent? Call the Stokes County Jail at (336) 593-8117. Once a booking checks out, VINE Arrest Check can track later custody events across participating systems. NC SAVAN will not follow someone held only at a precinct or released at the magistrate level without a jail booking.
Search the Stokes County Arrest Roster
The roster works as an on-demand form with four tabs: Current Confinements, Admits by Date Range, Charges, and Arresting Agency. The agency filter earns its keep. A person held in Stokes County may have been arrested by King Police, another county, probation, or a state agency. Public cards can show a photo, name, booking number, birth date, admit date, arresting agency, arrest time, charges, bond, and custody or release status. Fields vary from card to card, though.
| Search control | Use |
|---|---|
| Current Confinements | Present public custody |
| Date Range | Recent admits, including released records |
| Charges | Charges recorded at booking |
| Arresting Agency | Separate the arrest source from the holding jail |
Use the roster in order:
- Choose the view matching the custody or date question.
- Match name, birth date, booking number, and agency.
- Record the selected mode and date interval.
- Confirm urgent status with the jail.
A missing photo means no public image was configured. The booking record still stands. The sheriff's official app for Android and iOS offers current confinements as another channel, though app-store descriptions promise no identical fields or timing.
Where Stokes County Arrests Appear
Official sources lead because each covers a defined stage. Citizen Connect handles county bookings. The Daily Report adds a rolling view with a Bookings tab. Courts pick up the case after filing. NC DAC tracks state prison or supervision rather than the county jail. Private sites trail behind these records and run stale or thin.
| Channel | Scope | Photo | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citizen Connect | Current and recent bookings | Some cards | Official |
| Daily Report | Rolling reports and bookings | Varies | Official |
| NC eCourts Portal | Case events and outcomes | No mugshot feed | Official |
| RecentlyBooked | Private recent-booking copy | May show images | Unofficial |
| County Inmate Search | Private synchronized roster | No gallery observed | Unofficial |
The RecentlyBooked Stokes page shown here is a secondary discovery source.

Recent Arrests by Stokes City
The Stokes County Jail serves as the shared booking destination. The municipal routes differ. King runs its own police department with a records clerk. Walnut Cove Police appears on the official state agency list. The town publishes no arrest feed. Danbury has no separate police publisher. Instead, it serves as the county-seat access point for the sheriff, jail, and court.
- King Recent Arrests route city reports to King Police and accepted jail bookings to Citizen Connect.
- Walnut Cove Recent Arrests require checking the arresting-agency field and county custody view.
- Danbury Recent Arrests use the Stokes Sheriff system because no town police roster was located.
The Census incorporated-places source shown here establishes the city map.

The booking route follows agency structure, not city size.
Read a Stokes County Arrest Record
A booking record is born during jail intake. It is not an incident narrative or a court judgment. The public card carries facts that separate one admission from another. The full-details route may add charge-level data. Court dates, a final disposition, and the full investigation do not reliably appear. Attorney details and complete movement history are not reliably listed there either.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Booking number | The identifier for that admission |
| Admit and arrest dates | Related times that may describe different steps |
| Arresting agency | The arrest source, not always the holding jail |
| Charges | Charges entered at booking |
| Bond | A release or custody condition |
| Status or release date | The jail record's reported custody state |
| Photo | An intake image when public display is enabled |
Pair the card with the Stokes County Judicial Branch case path. Charges can change after booking. A released label speaks to custody only.
- Booking
- Jail intake and the record created during it.
- Bond
- A condition connected with release from custody.
- Disposition
- The result recorded by the court.
- Expunction
- A court process that may remove, seal, or destroy an eligible record.
Stokes County Mugshots After Arrest
Some public Stokes County cards on Citizen Connect show booking photos. Others carry a no-mugshot fallback. That pattern reflects the county interface's practice. It is not a promise that every arrest or older record holds a public image. A photo captures appearance at intake. Match it with the booking number, agency, and court record before drawing conclusions.
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction spans state prison, probation, parole, and historical state records. It does not cover county jail bookings. Its public locator takes a name or offender ID, though public images are never guaranteed. The official NC offender locator shown here covers the state-custody stage.

Two numbers, two systems. A county booking number and a state offender number each belong to separate tracking setups. For copies not online, ask the sheriff's records custodian. Private publishers like Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, and Mugshots.com may keep their own copies, but none is the official source, and their listings can miss later releases and court dispositions.
Request Stokes County Arrest Records
Old or incomplete online cards call for a formal request. The Stokes County public-records policy spells out how. Requests go by mail, phone, email, fax, or in person. Each one is routed to the proper custodian. No special booking-photo fee or guaranteed response time is published. Ask for an estimate before ordering many copies.
- Record the full name, booking number if known, arrest or admit date, and agency.
- Ask sheriff administration to identify the custodian for the exact record.
- Describe the booking record or photo precisely without demanding a broad investigation file.
- Confirm format, estimated copy cost, and delivery before payment.
- Use the court Portal separately for case events and disposition.

For immediate custody questions, the jail sits at 1013 N Main St., reachable at (336) 593-8117. Sheriff administration handles records routing. The $25 certified fee applies to single-county court records, so never treat it as a sheriff photo fee.
North Carolina Arrest Photo Law
Two state statutes shape what the public can see. G.S. 132-1 treats photographs and electronic data as public records when created or received in the course of public business, as long as no confidentiality law blocks it. Its companion, G.S. 132-1.4, walls off criminal-investigation material while keeping certain arrest facts open to the public. Even so, no agency is compelled to post every booking photo online.
A third law matters too. G.S. 15A-502 covers when photos and fingerprints get taken in defined arrest and charging situations. So an image can sit in an agency file even if it never shows up on a web card. Juvenile, victim, medical, and sealed records may stay withheld under separate rules.
Retention and online display are different things. The state sheriff schedule assigns different rules to arrest-processing records, arrest reports, criminal-history material that may include mug shots, detention records, and case files. Litigation or audit holds can extend a period. No schedule promises that Citizen Connect shows a card for the full agency retention window.
The NC expunction process can remove, seal, or destroy eligible state records under the controlling statute. Eligibility varies, and the general fee is $175 with specified exceptions and possible waivers. Private copies do not clear automatically. Correct the official source first. RecentlyBooked and Busted Newspaper state no-fee correction or removal routes for defined cases, while Mugshots.com documents free record maintenance for limited legal grounds. Never trust anyone who promises guaranteed removal for payment.
Stokes Arrest Warrants and Most Wanted
The sheriff's Most Wanted page comes first. A listing may include a photo, an identifying description, an added date, and a tip direction. It is a selected list. Not every active warrant appears online. Send tips through the anonymous Citizen Connect form or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8506, never by approaching a listed person, and verify details on the official Most Wanted interface itself.

Warrant status shifts fast. Service, recall, or court action changes it. Confirm with the sheriff or the court. King Police warns of callers posing as officers who cite a warrant and demand money. Use the department's published number, never the caller's, and let a lawyer advise on a lawful response to any confirmed warrant.
After a Stokes County Arrest
Booking is just the first step. After an arrest in Stokes County, a first appearance and a bond decision usually come next. Then a case may be filed, hearings follow, and a disposition eventually closes it out. The jail card shows charges and bond. It rarely shows a court date or the final outcome. For that, the NC eCourts Portal supports case searches, and the Stokes County Judicial Branch page offers local court access. A disposition is the recorded outcome of a case. It may differ a lot from the intake entry. When the jail reports a release, that only means custody has ended. The underlying case keeps moving on its own schedule in court.
Match the court case by more than a name. A birth date, a case number, a filing date, and booking details all help separate people who share a name. Stokes County also splits booking notices from incident narratives. The Citizen Connect Daily Report includes a Bookings tab. Its own notice warns that incident and accident reports can take up to 72 hours from filing to appear. That lag affects reports, not booking cards. So a jail admission can show up before the story behind it is ready. Sheriff press releases run on their own rhythm. They highlight selected events like major investigations or enforcement actions, not every person admitted to the jail. Keep the source and date with each result. A booking card records intake facts, the Daily Report groups activity by its displayed range, and a press release reflects what the sheriff chose to announce. When sources seem to disagree, the gap is often just scope or timing, and the court file remains the place to trace filed charges and the final result.
Stokes Arrests Beyond County Custody
State custody sits outside the sheriff's system. The North Carolina DAC search reaches prison, probation, and parole records going back to 1972. County jail data is expressly excluded. Use it after a transfer, a sentence, or supervision. It cannot check a fresh Stokes County arrest. A state offender ID is not a Stokes booking number.
Federal custody works the same way. The BOP Inmate Locator lists federal inmates from 1982 onward. It is refreshed by the federal system itself. It offers no Stokes booking-photo roster. ICE keeps its own detainee locator. It runs on an A-Number plus country of birth or exact biographical details. USMS exposes no nationwide public booking-photo roster at all.
So treat each custody level as its own search. Federal, immigration, state, and county sources do not talk to each other. Each one also stamps its own dates and identifiers. Citizen Connect keys on the local booking number and admission event. A court case number opens the judicial record. DAC and BOP assign IDs to their own populations. Do not force a match between systems just because two names look alike. Log the number, agency, date, and stated custody status from every result.
A blank result still tells you something useful. Work backward from the likeliest custody stage. Call the Stokes County Jail for a fresh local admission. Check the court file for a defendant already released. Reach for state or federal locators only when a transfer or sentence supports that route. Misses often come down to spelling, timing, another county, or the wrong system. Silence never proves that no arrest or custody event happened.
When Stokes Arrest Records Persist
What shows online fades faster than what the agency keeps. Current Confinements answers a live custody question. A person can drop off soon after release. The seven-day and custom admission views hold a recent booking a bit longer, released status included. Citizen Connect promises no permanent archive, though. The Daily Report also rolls forward. Its 72-hour warning on incident and accident reports covers those narratives, not every booking card.
Off the roster does not mean gone. The sheriff may still hold the record under the adopted state retention schedule. Arrest reports outside a case file, arrest-processing logs, detention records, criminal-history material, and case files each follow distinct rules. Ask the records custodian what remains and whether a confidentiality order or court order limits access. The NC Archives schedule governs government retention. It guarantees no public web display.
What if the booking and court record conflict? Read the booking card as an intake snapshot, then let the later court docket control for amended charges and final disposition. Ask the originating office to fix an inaccurate record. Send a private publisher the official corrected document, not an unsupported demand.
